Employment Training

Orientation:
New and returning employees attend the company wide orientation. Our president, directors and management will provide information regarding the organizations direction and commitment to both our guests and employees. Tours will be provided to familiarize staff with the resort and all the resort offerings.

All department training is scheduled by the managers of individual departments. Training varies from department to department but usually is one week's duration. Departmental training includes a half day on our Service Standards, and using the payroll system (making sure you get paid). The remainder of the training is job specific and mandatory for all employees including our part time staff.

Management Training:
To further develop our talent pool at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort we coach and encourage cross training to enhance your learning. Creating specific plans for our employees to ensure they are receiving and developing the right abilities for each individual’s personal aspirations. When our employees prove dedication and passion towards their work and our guests, plus have gained the necessary skills they are promoted from within.
All new supervisors and managers, within six months of starting of their new position, will take part in an Effectiveness Assessment. You will receive objective, confidential feedback to gain keener insight into the effectiveness at your new job. Focusing on skills that are critical for management’s success, the evaluation will suggest developmental areas and provides you with information and suggestions on how to enhance your skills to achieve the greatest possible performance gains.
