Dogtooth Dash Results
Golden, BC – This past weekend Kicking Horse Mountain Resort held the 4th annual Dogtooth Dash Ski Mountaineering race. On Saturday, North America’s best elite racers skied, skinned and hiked a custom designed course, which covered 4 alpine bowls & 6000 vertical feet, while the enduro athletes tackled a similar 4000 vertical foot course. Nearly 50 athletes including 4 splitboard competitors took on the course in foggy conditions, which took them around most of Kicking Horses alpine terrain. This year the men’s event was won by Reiner Thoni in a time of 1:49:45, with Mel Bernier winning the women’s event with a time of 2:16:00.
On Sunday we held the team sprint relay race, where teams of 4 completed a 2 stage 500 vertical foot course. This year’s race came down to the last climb of the last leg when team Columbian Connection passed Team Ladies in Red to take the win.
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort would like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers that made this year’s event possible!
