The BluMoose – Mountain Bike Ride for Charity

The goal of TheBluMoose cycling events is to raise charitable funds in memory of Danya Leemhuis.  The chosen charities are The Golden & District Hospital, British Columbia and The Couchiching Conservancy, Ontario.  Ride participants register for a BluMoose event by donating $200 to TheBluMoose Canada Helps page. 

Ride 1: August 9th 2019

TheBluMooose Ascent: 10KM Enduro style ride ascending the iconic ski hill at Kicking Horse Mountian Resort (KHMR).  From the base of the mountain, ride “It’s A 10” gravel route to the summit where riders will have breathtaking panoramic views of the Rocky Mountain and Purcell Mountain ranges. This ride is totally unique.  KHMR has granted TheBluMooose special permission to the hold the only base to submit uphill ride on this mountain.

Ride 2: August 10th 2019

TheBluMoose Gravel: A gravel ride departing from the KHMR Plaza and travelling along the West Bench of the Columbia Valley. Participants can choose one of 2 ride distances both of which will start and finish at the KHMR Plaza. Ride the stunning routes through the wilderness of southern British Columbia which provide spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains, the Purcell Mountains and the Columbia Valley Wetlands. This inaugural event is unique as the routes have never been continuously cycled before. Be part of this epic journey.   Registration for this event will be limited to 200 riders.
