
New Year’s Eve Celebration
This event is free to attend! Hosted in the Plaza
For a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration, bundle up the kids and bring them to the Gondola Plaza at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Activities will include a Rail Jam under the lights hosted by our local skiers and snowboarders, a fire show by Amuse Troupe & a torchlight parade down the slopes! And to top it all off, a colossal year-end fireworks display starting at 9:00pm!
Evening events kick off at 6:30 concluding by 9:30pm, early enough to tuck in the little ones to ring in the New Year. This event is designed to be spectator friendly with everything located in the plaza!

New Year’s Eve Rail Jam – ONLINE REGISTRATION
The New Year’s Eve Rail Jam event is considered a demonstration event and all skiers / riders need to be registered and aware of the challenges of a night time event. No outside riders will be allowed.
Notes for ALL participants who are going in the New Year’s Eve Rail Jam
- Must be expert skiers or snowboarders
- Must wear a helmet
- Sign a waiver and attend a pre-air meeting at Catamount base at 6:30pm or check in with mountain safety/ events coordinator before riding
- Must be aware of the dangers / challenges of skiing / boarding at night
- No inverts allowed

Special Events Release Agreement
Torchlight Parade – REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL
Is open to 70 participants to ski down the mountain with nothing but a torch for guidance. For young children (8-12 yrs) we also have 30 spots open for glowsticks so they can participate with their parents or older children.
*All participants must get their lift tickets from Guest Services before the main event.
Notes for ALL participants who are going in the Torchlight Parade & Glow Stick Parade
- Must be strong blue run skiers or snowboarder
- Sign a waiver and attend a pre-parade meeting 8pm in the Catamount chair base.
- All adults must be comfortable skiing without poles as they need to hold on the a bamboo pole and flare
- All kids must be able to get on and off lifts on their own and have parents able to show up to the pre-event meeting at the Catamount Chair Base.
- Must be 12 and older to hold a torch otherwise those who are younger can participate in the glow stick parade.
- Must be aware of the dangers / challenges of skiing / boarding at night
- Ensure people know they can’t bring bags with them. Due to concerns of drinking outside alcohol.
