Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Opens for Summer Season on June 24th
Golden, BC – Kicking Horse is a popular winter destination and is fast gaining the same amount of popularity in the summer months. With a summer season running from June to the end of September and a plethora of activities for all ages it’s the perfect family or adventure summer location.
Some highlights for summer include;
- NEW Cross Country Alpine trail
The newest way to access heli alpine biking trails without the heli cost – accessed by riding the Eagle’s Eye Gondola and making your way over to Crystal Bowl The town of Golden, B.C is home to over 100 km of Cross Country Mountain Biking Trails in the Mountain Shadows, Moonraker and Canyon Creek Bike Trails system as well. - NEW Golden 24 (two-four)
Known as the Golden 24 (pronounced Golden Two-Four) the event will start and finish within Golden town boundaries, providing extensive camping areas and festival production but also close proximity to the town centre and all its amenities. Not to mention with the date scheduled for June 18 & 19, 2016, riders will get to enjoy the longest days of the year in the saddle and with their friends. - Winemakers and Brewmasters Dinners
Ride the Gondola to the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant to enjoy multi course gourmet dinners perfectly paired with wine or beer. - The Golden Ultra
The Golden Ultra features three stages: The Blood, The Sweat and The Tears. Runners may participate solo in the stage race, as a relay team of three, or may register for any single stage individually. - Via Ferrata & Suspension Bridge
Step out of your comfort zone and experience first-hand climbing exposure in a safe environment, while soaking in the majestic views of the Rockies and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Starting off the ridge-line dividing the Rocky Mountain trench from the Purcell range, and exiting at the top of Terminator Peak, the Via Ferrata is a truly unique beast. Also available is walking across the thrilling Hanging Glory suspension bridge, no Via Ferrata required! - Lunch in the Clouds
Take in the view of 6 National Parks from the world famous Eagles Eye Restaurant – perched on the peak at 7,700 feet at the top of the Eagles Eye Express Gondola. The views are just the beginning, gourmet food and events all summer are also specialties.
