Culture at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
Our 5 Guiding Principles are a system of beliefs that contributes to RCR’s culture. They help guide our decisions and support our mission as we endeavor to be the world’s leading mountain resort operator through engaging people who passionately embrace mountain culture and share fresh adventures. We respect each other’s individual values, but we also celebrate the shared values across our organization that reflects our mission.
Our continued success is dependent on the balance of our 5 Guiding Principles:
Employee Experience
I believe that my enthusiasm and positive attitude make this a great place to visit or to work. I believe in taking responsibility for meeting my commitments, and inspire those around me to do the same. I celebrate accountability, safety, respect, trust, and look not for the problems, but for the solutions. I show a commitment to teamwork and fully engaging my efforts in our shared goals. I understand the terms of employment and will work to follow them.
Guest Experience
I show a commitment to exceeding the expectations of every guest to our resort, ensuring they receive a warm welcome, and that they are provided with a fun, safe environment and experience. I celebrate going the extra mile, and having fun doing it. I show a commitment to what we create for others as a resort operator and am passionate about what I do.
Growth & Ingenuity
I show a commitment to the long term growth and development of myself, my teammates, and the company. I believe that every day is a new opportunity to raise the bar on what we’ve accomplished by finding new and better ways to do things.
Community Relationships
I understand that it is RCR’s objective to give back to the communities in which we work, live and play, and I will do my part to ensure that we achieve these goals.
Financial Responsibility
I understand that results matter. They are at the core of everything we do. I understand that the company has to be financially viable and that I have to ensure that my actions assist in achieving this. Taking responsibility means you and your team making the best impact you can for the financial wellbeing of the RCR group and each of the resorts.

Orientation and Training
All new employees will attend a paid, Resort-wide Orientation day at the start of the season where our Area Manager shares our vision regarding the direction of the Resort and our commitment to both employees and guests. Orientation is an opportunity to familiarize new employees with the Resort and its many offerings, meet employees from other departments, as well as get to know your Managers and those you will be working closely with. You will also have departmental training, specific to your Resort team, scheduled by your department Manager. Training assists us in exceeding our guests’ and teams’ expectations, so it is required for all new employees.
