Additional Policies & Procedures

We're looking forward to seeing you this summer at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.  Before your visit, please take a moment to review our COVID-19 policies and guidelines detailed below.  Be mindful of maintaining social distancing from those outside of your cohort and follow all provincial government recommendations.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide and safe environment for our guests and staff.  See you soon!

 

ALL RESORT GUESTS MUST MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING OF 2 METERS AT ALL TIMES AND FOLLOW ALL PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS AS SET OUT BY THE PROVINCIAL HEALTH OFFICER.

For the safety of resort guests and our staff please do not visit if any of the following apply:

  • If you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, sore throat, cough, difficulty breathing),
  • Live in a household with someone with COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 or who is self isolating due to possible exposure to COVID-19
  • If you have travelled outside of Canada in the past 2 weeks or been in contact with anyone who has travelled outside of Canada in the past 2 weeks

 

STAFF HEALTH & SAFETY

All staff are required to

  • Complete daily health screening prior to starting every work shift.
  • Be trained and participate in all COVID-19 procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment, enhanced cleaning of work and public areas, and frequent hand washing/sanitizing.
  • Follow provincial health guidelines to maintain personal health and avoid the spread of COVID-19.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY ACROSS THE RESORT

  • Please follow instructions from our staff. They are here to make the experience a safe and enjoyable one for you.
  • All service counters will have plexi-glass barriers to separate guests and staff.
  • Staff will be wearing face masks at all times while working.
  • Guests will be required to wear face coverings in designated areas at the resort. This includes the base plaza from the daylodge stairs to the entrance by the General Store, all indoor resort facilities as well as in the chairlift/gondola line, and when loading and unloading chairlift/gondola.
  • Credit or debit cards are preferred for payments. Tap is available for payments up to $250.
  • Please follow all instructional signage, including face covering reminders, physical distancing markings and directional signage.
  • Resort buildings will have a one-way flow of foot traffic to reduce interactions with other guests (where possible) and will have maximum guest capacities posted to ensure physical distancing.
  • Please sanitize your hands prior to entering our buildings, including washrooms.  Hand sanitizer will be available by the entrances of all buildings.
  • Staff will be cleaning high touch surfaces frequently during the day, including payment terminals, after each use.
  • We have 3 large parking lots that all provide easy access to the base area.
  • Please leave at least 2m space between yours and other vehicles and practice physical distancing as soon as you get out.
  • We ask that no gathering or tail-gating takes place while visiting.
  • Overnight parking is not permitted in any parking lots or streets at the resort.
  • To help minimize contact and potential transmission, we strongly recommend pre-purchasing your tickets, passes and activities online please visit the Plan & Purchase menu option for more.
  • Credit or debit cards are preferred for payments. Tap is available for payments up to $250.
  • If purchasing day tickets, please visit the outside ticket windows on the south side of the Daylodge facing the gondola.
  • If purchasing Season Passes, Mountain Bike Tickets or Via Ferrata Tours, please visit the Guest Services counter inside the Daylodge.
  • Follow all hygiene and physical distancing requirements as directed on site.
  •        There will be a limit to 10 people maximum inside the Daylodge at any given time.

  • Guests are required to wear face coverings while in the lift lines, loading and unloading the lifts.
  • Please ensure you present the barcode on your lift ticket or season pass to the scanner so they don’t have to touch it.
  •  All lift staff will be wearing face masks for your and their protection.
  • You must only ride with family or travelling companions. Singles will ride alone.
  • Tours at the Grizzly Bear Refuge will be available every hour from 10am to 3pm, excluding 1pm.
  • Face Coverings are mandatory.
  • There will be a limited amount of people permitted on each tour so you must book your time in advance with Guest Services by calling 250-439-5425, in person at the Outside Ticket Window, or inside the Daylodge.
  • Please be ready to load the Catamount Chair 15-30min prior to your scheduled tour time.
  • While visiting the Grizzly Bear Refuge, you must practice physical distancing of at least 2m (6ft) and refrain from touching any shared surfaces.
  • Eagle’s Eye restaurant will be open daily for lunch.
  • The restaurant will be following public health orders which currently allows for outdoor/patio dining only. This will be adjusted as permitted by public health orders.
  • Due to space restrictions limited reservations are available daily. Please call 250-439-5413 to inquire.
  • Tables will be spaced 2m (6ft) apart and no groups more than 6 will be seated at the same table.
  • Guests are required to wear face coverings at all times while visiting the restaurant except while seated at their table.
  • Guests are not permitted to move to another table to socialize with other guests.
  • Staff will be wearing reusable face masks while serving you.
  • When leaving the restaurant, please use the patio exit.
  • No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted on resort property as this would be a violation of our BC liquor laws.
  • Please use hand sanitizer prior to entering and exiting all washrooms.
  • Daylodge washrooms will be available with limited capacities.
  • Eagle’s Eye washrooms will be available with limited capacities.
  • For all washrooms, cleaning will be increased throughout the day but we ask all guests to please be considerate and use the wipes provided to clean any surfaces they have touched.
  • You must practice safe physical distancing while using the trails – at least 2m (6ft) apart while stationary or walking/hiking, 20m (60ft) apart while biking.
  • No handshakes, high fives, hugs unless you are riding with family or travelling companions.
  • Chill the Send – ride well within your ability level, dependent on the conditions.
  • Avoid gathering at intersections/junctions.
  • No tailgating in the parking lots at the end of the day.
  • Do not share water bottles or trail snacks.
  • Guests and staff are required to wear face coverings at all times while on tour.
  • All equipment is sanitized after each use and left to dry overnight.
  • Must only climb with family or travelling companions.
  • No single tours available. Must have a group of 2 or more people for the tour to operate.
  • There will be sanitizing stations placed along the route to assist with hygiene.
  • No hugs, handshakes or high fives with your guide (but tips are nice and can be done by tap at Guest Services).
  • Our 18 hole Disc Golf Course is open for play this summer.
  • You can purchase discs at Kicking Horse Outfitters located at the base of the Catamount Chair.
  • The course map is available online click here to view.
  • Please do not touch the baskets as they are not sanitized. Gimme’s are encouraged!
  • While walking the course please ensure you maintain physical distance of at least 2m (6ft).
  • Credit or debit cards are preferred for payments. Tap is available for payments up to $250.
  • Please refrain from touching anything inside the shop unless you plan on purchasing it. Instead, ask for assistance from staff to find out more about something.
  • There is a maximum of 8 people permitted in the store at one time.
  • You are required to use hand sanitizer before entering the store.
  • Use of a facemask is recommended.
  • All equipment is cleaned and sanitized after each use and left to dry overnight.
  • Credit or debit cards are preferred for payments. Tap is available for payments up to $250.
  • Please refrain from touching anything inside the shop unless you plan on purchasing it. Instead, ask for assistance from staff to find out more about what’s available.
  • There is a maximum of 6 people permitted in the store at one time.
  • You are required to use hand sanitizer before entering the store.
  • Use of a facemask is recommended.

ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

We recommend you take steps to protect yourself, we promote contactless payment as much as possible, regular hand sanitization and/or washing, staying within your social bubble and avoiding gatherings on our properties.

Remain respectful - we will not tolerate any abuse towards our staff members or other guests in regards to any of these guidelines.  Anyone not able to follow our recommendations will be asked to leave.
