Avalanche Awareness Days

Free event! Everyone is welcome to join in!

Avalanche Awareness Days is a national celebration of Canada's avalanche safety expertise and an invitation to enjoy the winter backcountry with education and training.

EVENT DETAILS

We will be in on CPR Ridge and in the Gondola Plaza all weekend on January 10th & 11th with various activities going on.  Look for the Kicking Horse Tent at the base!

In partnership with GO! Solutions Pet Food, Avalanche Canada, and CARDA, the KHMR Safety team will be holding workshops about Avalanche Awareness with explosives, transceivers, Avalanche Rescue Dog demonstrations and more.

11:00am - Transceiver Demo/Race - Gondola Plaza

11:30am - Digging Demo/Race - Gondola Plaza

12:00pm - Snow Pit Profile Study - CPR Ridge

1:00pm - CARDA Avalanche Dog Demo - Base Of Pioneer Chair

2:00pm - Explosives Demonstration - CPR Ridge
