Dunbar Summer Series | Canada Cup and BC Cup DH MTB
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is proud to be a host of the Dunbar Summer Series!

The race will be held on our infamous Pioneer race track. Racers can expect a fast, steep, and technical course. Comprised of multiple rock slab sections, and steep and technical route sections, riders will have to be on their game to make it down top to bottom as fast as they can!

Schedule:
Friday – Golden Eagle Express is open for racers, unofficial course inspection, and plate pickup. The race course is open to the public and racers until 3 pm.
Saturday – Practice, seeding runs for the elite categories, and plate pickup
Sunday – Race Day!
Lift Tickets:
Competitors will pay and pick up their lift tickets at the ticket windows and Guest Services. This can be done starting Thursday – please purchase all of your day tickets at once to avoid having to wait in line again. Complete your lift ticket waiver online here and show the barcode at the time of purchase.
Friday & Monday – Competitors receive a 20% discount on their lift ticket. To get the discount Friday, competitors must be pre-registered by Thursday. Competitors, please head to the designated race lift ticket windows on Friday and let them know you are with the race. They will confirm with our registration list, and you will receive the discount.
Waiver:
All competitors must fill out RCR Event Waiver(s) before the event. Any competitor 16 years of age and older (as of Day 1 of competition) must fill out an EVENT WAIVER. You can fill the Event Waiver out yourself. Any competitor 15 years of age and younger (as of Day 1 of the competition) must fill out both the EVENT WAIVER and PARENTAL CONSENT WAIVER. Your parent or legal guardian must complete these waivers. You will receive an email with a copy of the completed release to confirm you have finished the process (you will receive one email per waiver, so competitors 15yrs and younger should receive two emails – one email with a copy of the Event Waiver and one with the composition of the Parental Consent Waiver). Course:
The race will take place on a Kicking Horse classic, known for its steep & rugged terrain, the Pioneer trail.
Racers can access the top of the course via It’s a 10, Blaster, or Kranky Pants – follow the signs. Please note: Access road is gravel, with loose sections, so please ride with care when heading to the start area.
This course is open to racers only for the weekend. Public, friends, and family can access trails off the Catamount & gondola lifts.

Camping
There are a few options for camping for the event. Golden has several campsites in town and close by. For those looking for serviced campsites you can reserve spots in the following campgrounds. Please book your camping early as local campgrounds do sell out.

On-Site Camping
There will be limited on-site camping available. Basic parking lot camping will be open up at the resort. Campers must be self-contained as there are no services available other than garbage bins and porta-potties. Please be advised that the on-site camping is on a first come first served basis. Overnight camping will be available from Thursday, July 11th to 10:00 am on Monday, July 15th.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
- Volunteers are needed as course marshals for the event on both Saturday and Sunday. All volunteers get up close to the action, lunch, event swag and are entered into our Volunteer prize draws for awesome bike prizing from our sponsors.
- Volunteers will also receive one additional day ticket for each day volunteered. If you volunteer for two days, you can also choose between a winter day ticket or a Via-Ferrata Tour.
