HELI-SKIING

Make it an unforgettable all-adventure package with Kicking Horse lift tickets, ski-in/out accommodation, and heli-skiing accessed right from the resort village.

Now operating right from Kicking Horse’s very own heli-pad across from the Mountaineer Lodge, skiers and riders keen on the next level can get on board for a day of deep powder with Purcell Heli-Skiing.

One, two and three-day packages let you access vast terrain, untouched snow and awe-inspiring views. Small groups (6 guests, 2 guides) and a private helicopter allow for the best guest experience in terms of flow, flexibility and terrain variety.

A short 10-minute flight takes you beyond the inbounds ski area to our 2000 square kilometre operating zone.

Skiers and riders confident on the black diamond terrain of The Horse or better are a match for heli-skiing, even if you’re new to deep powder.

Purcell is a unique, family-run operation that’s been guiding backcountry adventures since 1974. With experience, professionalism, and humour, they take a small number of guests into a big environment and show you the time of your skiing and riding life.

For more information, call 1.877.HELI.SKI or visit the Purcell Heli-Skiing website.

Depending on the weather, visibility and snow conditions on a given day, guests will enjoy anything from open bowls and glaciated runs to subalpine, glades, trees and cutblocks. A single run can take you through all of the above.

There are six guests in the group, plus two certified guides, with their own private helicopter.

Heli-ski guests meet at the Winston Lodge (in Kicking Horse village) at 8:00am for orientation and safety training.

One-day packages include 4000 metres, two-day includes 9000 metres, and the three-day includes 15,000 metres.

If heavy fog, high winds or extreme conditions keep you from achieving your guaranteed vertical, you will receive a full or partial refund depending on your package length.

Your safety is our number one priority. Guides are highly trained, experienced, and ACMG certified. Heli-ski pilots are some of the most experienced in the industry, and are very familiar with mountain flying in winter conditions. All guests receive a thorough but concise safety briefing before heli-skiing, so they feel informed and confident in their surroundings.

If you’re thinking about February or March, you should reserve NOW! Seats often book out months in advance. Current availability is published on the Purcell Heli-Skiing Website.
